Dry Ice Safety Guidelines

DON'T
  • Touch with bare hands
  • Store in airtight containers
  • Ingest or put in mouth
  • Use in confined spaces
  • Leave within reach of children
  • Dispose in regular trash
  • Store in walk-in freezers

  • Wear insulated gloves
  • Use well-ventilated areas
  • Store in insulated containers
  • Keep container lid loose
  • Label as "Dry Ice"
  • Allow to sublimate in open air
  • Keep away from food contact
First Aid for Dry Ice Burns
  1. Remove from cold source immediately
  2. Remove any wet clothing near affected area
  3. Immerse in lukewarm water (NOT hot) for 15-20 minutes
  4. Do NOT rub affected area
  5. Do NOT apply ointments or creams
  6. Cover with sterile, dry dressing
  7. Seek medical attention immediately for severe burns
Ventilation Requirements

Dry ice sublimates into CO2 gas, which can displace oxygen in enclosed spaces:

  • Always use in well-ventilated areas
  • Never use in closed vehicles without open windows
  • Warning signs of CO2 exposure: headache, dizziness, difficulty breathing
  • If symptoms occur, move to fresh air immediately
Safe Disposal
  1. Leave unused dry ice in a well-ventilated area at room temperature
  2. Never dispose in sinks, toilets, or drains (can damage pipes)
  3. Never dispose in garbage chutes or compactors
  4. Allow to sublimate completely in open air
  5. Small quantities can be placed in a cooler with lid open

Storage Instructions
  • Store in a cool, clean place away from direct sunlight
  • Keep away from chemicals and cleaning products
  • Do not store near heat sources
  • Keep sealed until ready to use
  • Best before: 30 days from manufacturing date
Dispenser Safety
  • Clean dispenser every 3 months
  • Unplug before cleaning
  • Use food-grade sanitizer
  • Replace filters as recommended
  • Keep dispenser area clean and dry
Handling 20L Jars
  • Lift with proper technique (bend knees, not back)
  • Use both hands when carrying
  • Place on stable, flat surface
  • Do not roll jars on hard surfaces
  • Check for cracks before use
